The album "Pines Of Rome Fountains Of Rome" by Respighi, Toscanini, NBC Symphony is a true masterpiece of classical music. The album features two of Respighi's most famous works, "Pines of Rome" and "Fountains of Rome," both of which are beautifully performed by the NBC Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Arturo Toscanini.

The album opens with "Pines of Rome," which is a four-movement symphonic poem that captures the essence of Rome's pine trees in different settings. The orchestra's performance is exceptional, with each section of the orchestra perfectly blending together to create a rich and vibrant sound. The brass section, in particular, stands out with their powerful and majestic playing.

The second half of the album features "Fountains of Rome," another four-movement symphonic poem that depicts the four fountains of Rome at different times of the day. The orchestra's playing is once again superb, and the listener can almost visualize the fountains and the surrounding scenery through the music.

Ottorino Respighi (born in Bologna, July 9, 1879 - died in Rome, April 18, 1936), was an Italian composer, musicologist and violinist. He is perhaps best known for his Roman trilogy and the three suites of Ancient Airs and Dances.

Listening to this classical music, you really get the
feeling of Rome with lavish gala events, troops marching
and the eventual clashes of swords and shields in battle.
You know a composer has the gift when he can paint scenes
that you can see in your mind using only musical instruments .
